Barenaked Ladies: Pinch Me Meaning
Song Released: 2000
Pinch Me Lyrics
Somewhere far away from here
I feel fine enough, I guess
Considering everything's a mess.
There's a restaurant down the street
Where hungry people like to eat
I could walk, but I'll just drive
It's colder than...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about cronic depression-BNL said so them selves. It describes they way you feel when your depressed and how it just sucks your energy for life.
"It's the perfect time of year
Somewhere far away from here
I feel fine enough, I guess
Considering everything's a mess.
There's a restaurant down the street
Where hungry people like to eat
I could walk, but I'll just drive
It's colder than it looks outside." -
To myself, this song represents the disappointment with becoming an adult. Being a teen in the 90s it was so great. And we all thought we would be so free as adults. But for most of us adulthood meant having less freedom than we did as teenagers. I see how great the world is and how fun it could be. But I'm stuck in one spot so I'm not able to enjoy the world and different cultures, scenery.

I thought it had something to do with the band member fighting cancer but besides that i can relate ;)
