Beatles: She Loves You Meaning
Song Released: 1963
She Loves You Lyrics
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Verse #1
You think you lost your love,
Well, I saw her yesterday.
It's you she's thinking of
And she told me what to...
-
It only means that. . . Are you ready. . .SHE LOVES YOU! YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!
-
This might not be accurate but I always liked to think that the song its not worn in third person but that the character that's singing is in love with the girl and its telling the other not to waste his chance. It might not have been intended but it does add a new dimension to a classic, which is always refreshing.
-
The "funny" thing is that the intended meaning was actually about a guy cheating on his girlfriend with another guy.
-
mDGA6F That's really thinking out of the box. Thanks!

Thank you a thousand times for writing a sane, straight forward interpretation of a great, straight forward song and
not turning it into something about drugs, eggnazis and/or Paul Is Dead. -
She loves you is pretty straight forward. The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah however was apparently a little controversial back then, in Britain it was seen as a bit American slang, and given The Beatles management was pushing for the suits, no swearing and a polished look for the Liverpool lads, i would say the Yeah part added a dash of joyous rebellion to the song.
Apparently Lennon and McCartney cowrote the song while in a motel room. And McCartney is quoted as saying it was John's idea to do the song in the third person, which added a little unusual edge to the basic i love you theme.
It was released in 1963, and in retrospect was seen as ground breaking for the time.
Lennon and McCartney were about 20 to 23 ish and had been doing some tours for a couple of years, and both their mothers had died some time ago. A few years later the Vietnam war, peace movement, spiritual journeys and social issues colored their lyrics.
But this song i think is quite full of feeling and truthfulness, as there is a sense that they would indeed like to be loved. later in life we see that being loved by a woman was very important to both of them, so i would say this early song catches some of their true feelings.
