Elton John: Little Jeannie Meaning
Song Released: 1980
Little Jeannie Lyrics
-
Could it be Geni instead of Jeannie? Elton is gay so this may be alluding to that factor.
For years we just assumed his lyrics depict a female.
But especially after he got with David, we know they didn't always. -
I think it's about a girl he likes but from afar, but doesn'have the nerve to tell her or ask her out on a date.
Acrobat is his own ideas ( n his mind, thoughts) of what he fantasizes about (her being with him.)
The bad dream is him seeing her with other men that don't treat her right.GREAT SONG! -
My interpretation is about a young attractive girl that's been looking for love in the wrong places being used by so many until a man comes along that really loves and appreciate her for who she is inside and instead she has no more love to give to the man whom truly love her she has used up all of her love inside with men whom truly didn't love or care for her the way she deserves.

Elton John has a Jeannie , who gives him all the inspiration he needs.
-
This song was written about an American actress from the 1920's Jean Harlow. Most of Eltons fans do not know this nor do they care. For me personally I like to know "the story" behind the songs I love.

Elton John's lyrics is as clear as the sky and glass. Are you bold enough to answer this legitimate question of yours? Or did you get up in the wrong side of your bed? - on halt
-
Lyrics is as clear as the sky.......
Listen carefully and you'll get it. Are you bold enough to answer this legitimate question? Then don't answer it with a lame reply.
Did you get up in the wrong side of the bed?
- Reading but not approving any interpretation -
Little Jeannie.......
Listen carefully and you will understand the meaning!
You are bold enough to answer this legitimate question? then don't interpret this song with a lame reply!
Did you get up on the wrong side of your bed?
Peace! -
MY interpretation??! Who cares what I think, what do the writer and singer mean by it. It is not one of those, “It’s open to the listener to draw own conclusions”, it it? That is such a lame reply - it only shows cowardice in the face of legitimate questions.
-
About a young boy that was influenced by the magical world of the east made even more magical to collide with the wild wild west days set in the future that turned real for him in the present time when meeting ''Little Jeannie'', being infatuated with passion and love for her to be his girlfriend now. This made him feel like a man and expecting her to be his ''acrobat'' for him to fulfill his crazy and wild imagination that has been controlling his thoughts and dreams with good intentions in the now with ''Little Jeannie'', but where both were not on the same time wave to truly appreciate each others reality.
-
Jeannie is marihuana , "maryjane" that after being his acrobat, that is showing him some tricks, has made him aware of the true meaning of love and life. Most probably after a sourful depression maybe or disappointment with someone meaningful. Could have been a prostitute though!, but coincidence of the name makes it not likely but there is where the poet shines!
