Fall Out Boy: Reinventing the Wheel To Run Myself Over Meaning
Reinventing the Wheel To Run Myself Over Lyrics
but we all know which way I'm going to go strike the stake between my chest.
so "You have to prove yourself". You'll have to prove it to me.
So now you're waiting up for him... you're...
-
Patrick didn't write the song, because Patrick doesn't title his songs with ambiguous puns seemingly unrelated to the content of the songs he simply titles them after the chorus. (Calm Before the Storm, Dance, Dance) 'I know my place its nowhere you should roam' is in terms of Pete being a loser in high school 'a failure at everything'
-
Patrick wrote this song, not pete. It's about growing older ("18 going on extinct") and feeling like you're being a total failure at the whole growing up and taking responsibilities thing.
"I know my place is nowhere you should roam" could also be about how Pete and Joe (andy too, even though he wasn't in the band when the first album came out) were all in the hardcore scene when Fall Out Boy just started out, and Patrick, well, wasn't. -
"so now your waiting up for him, your waisting time year every time"
your waisting time on casual flings and rebounds we could have been the real thing
" I know my place its no where you should roam"
im too hardcore and unsafe for you to be around
"I can't wake up too these reminders of who I am"
i don't really like who I am
pretty much a song about hatred and regret -
No, he DOESN'T want her back!!
-
This song is bascailly about Petes Ex-Girlfriend. His Girlfriend broke up with him and she descided that she wants him back. Before he decides to back together with her he wants her to prove to him that he will love him even more. Well "You have to prove yourself". You'll have to prove it to me.
