Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) Lyrics

#1 top rated interpretation:Rabbit Heart describes to me as a gentle, frightened soul thrust into a world, most of us would desire, of the rich and famous. Once she had entered this world she quickly realizes how much more she has to offer to keep herself there. Tho she knew what she was getting into hence "this is a gift it comes with a price" and trying to be lionhearted she learned to shed the rabbit heart she describes as she learns the meaning of being both the lamb and the knife. Being the lamb means to sacrifice yourself to the public and wielding the knife is to be in control of her situation and how much of herself to expose. "Midas is king and he holds me so tight" Midas, a king in greek mythology turned everything to gold with his touch, indicates to me that she feels empowered by being turned to gold in the fame she has recieved..I hope I hit the nail on the head, hate to insult the beauty and honesty of Florence's lyrics, one talented lady!
