This specific old song could have been about Lightfoot's first love that he experienced with his first Wife that was fleeing from his thoughts throughout the passing years of time to still remember her as a natural angelic spiritual woman that he dearly loved. While being in the presence of a higher power of JESUS[GOD] that he sung with I believe. Where his heart and soul was still willing to bleed for her as one in the spirit of CHRIST now to just see her one more time before the sacred memories he kept dear in his heart, are about to be gone and forgotten over time.
