H.I.M: (Don't Fear) The Reaper Meaning
(Don't Fear) The Reaper Lyrics
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are
Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby take my hand... Don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able...

40,000 men and women everyday... Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are

The (mis)interpretation by 'Anonymous on Oct. 23rd, 2014, is waaaay off. It was not... IS not... and NEVER was about suicide. Plus, why would you review the cover of a song?!? Ridiculous.
-
First of all, this is a cover song originally recorded by Blue Oyster Cult. This song is the concept of suicide. Two lovers bound in life, but when one of those hearts wishes to end it all (being from a man to a woman in the song itself), he expresses to her to not fear the reaper, but to think of him embracing you, as if to be taken to a different or better place. This also comes into play with Romeo and Juliet as they were lovers who in the end committed suicide. So the main theme/topic of this song is of suicide and not be afraid of it.
