The song is about lamenatnig crops and abused nature. Matt shows his concern about industrial growth and business greed. The song is made in the sense of not belonging in your own world. It was nearly called alien explorers- alien referring to feeling like an alien in your own planet. The song is about the intense desire to grow and expland, and how eventually there will be more used land than nature. Its also about the outrage of people being able to own places like Niagra, and then do whatever they want with the place- like kick all the natives out. They feel this is an injustice of the law.
