#1 top rated interpretation:This song is NOT about Corey or drugs. The original singer, Anders wrote this song. It's about stepping into the umbra. The spiritual world that rests deep within the human mind. I spend a lot of time there myself. Listen to the original version of the song on the Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat album. You can download it from Metabolic666.com if you can't find the CD.

This one's an easy guess. It's basically about drifting off into another world, possibly using drugs or alcohol. That's just my personal interpretation, blame me if it's not true, but that's what it seems to me. I love this song. My favorite Slipknot song. Go Corey Taylor! ^^

This song is very unique. It is about just getting away from reality. The bass line is so simple but so powerful at the same time. Really one of Slipknot's best songs.

Good interpretation, and Umbra actually means "Shadow" in Latin so in my opinion it is like stepping into a shadow and staying there, being free minded and giving yourself time to think of things. And when Corey says "This mode is incredible" i think it is meaning the mode you are in and you are in a state of mind that can be overwhelming.
