Don't Stand So Close To Me Lyrics
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her there's longing
This girl's an open page
Book marking - she's so close now
This girl is half his age
Don't stand, don't stand...
-
A teacher who recently found out a student has a crush on him. The feeling is mutual so the ‘don’t stand so close to me’ part is him trying to tell the student to leave him alone so that temptation doesn’t get the better of him. He never enters a relationship with said student and ends up quitting his job because of this.

I think this song is about a teenage girl who falls in love with her male schoolteacher. He finds out and they start to have an affair which gets discovered!

This is a song that Sting wrote when he was a teacher. Just out of college, he taught a high school class, and the older girls would try to flirt with him. This is a song about how freaked out he was by this, hence the song's title.
