Gone Country Lyrics
For ten years in Vegas
And every night she looks in the mirror
But she only ages
She's been reading about Nashville and all
The records that everybody's buying
Says, "I'm a simple girl myself
Grew up...

My impression hasn't altered one iota since I first heard and loved this song. A lighthearted but backhand swipe at all of the "country music posers" who were than and have since taken control away from traditional country music. Alan Jackson and George Strait teamed up to do, 'Murder on music row'. A song following the same theme. A subject I could get on a soapbox about for days.
