   I'll go runnin in outer space again -- Cosmicly we all come from stars and finish our lives as space dust for new stars -- on and on so it goes. Perhaps this lyricist was expressing our journey into yet another cycle to the stars as running in outer space again.

   I feel like this is the "cheesy coming of age 80s classic" of Alice Cooper song. The song is about a protagonist who is 18 and at a crossroads at his life. He has no idea what hes going to do with his life and is worried and stressed about it.
   
   I feel like as the song progresses the character starts from feeling old and as if his life is over "lines form on my face and hands", to realizing that hes still young and can still have fun "i'm eighteen and i LIKE IT"
   
   Everyone can relate to it. Everyone gets to the bump in the road where you're in transition inbetween two huge parts of your life, and you have no idea how to react to it.
   
   
   The fact that this song never made it into a John Hughes movie (that i know of) shocks me.

   This song is the most beautiful song and absolutely and completely spot on. I have just turned 18, and this song portays the emotions inside me.
   
   I don't know what I wanna do with my life, whether it be college or just working and there are times where I just wanna escape from these decisons and "run into out of space". Although I am "confused everyday", deep down "I'm eighteen and I like it" cos I am still young and full of life and starting to explore the world. Thank you Alice, you are such a brilliant lyricist

   This song is about a young man, 18 to be exact, who has probably just graduated high school. He's enjoying his newfound freedom, but has no clue what to do with his life. He's confused, doesn't know what to do, but is glad that he's made it this far.
