It's not about the Mafia. The Mob is the masses. like a lynch mob or other crowd. The Lyrics state "when you listen to fools, the Mob Rules". It's about political leaders playing on the fears on people. Brain Washing them in a "Mob Mentality". But the song clearly cautions that they're playing with fire when they do this. It's also a warning for people not to fall into such manipulation.

The mob might not be the government but the masses. The dumb masses that fear Islam yet demand the most sadistic punishments for criminals. The dumb masses calling themselves tolerant not tolerating anything that is not in line with their belief system. Since they are the masses, they rule in a democracy.

In our corrupt political world that is controlling the masses. The people are always plagued by the cycle.

Problem, reaction, solution.Since the initial fools blinded the masses with a deception of some sort.It Allows them to rule. The fools become complacent and the masses become agitated. Except in the end the mob always ends up ruling after each failed form of control is removed.

The fools being the politicians the mob being the masses rebelling against the current system that governs them.
Except in the conclusion if the rebellion victors are not careful they can become the fools as well thus continuing the cycle.

    Politics and organized crime?
Have you all forgotten your Heavy Metal mythology? It means that the Loc Nahr has come crashing down to earth and created a giant "mob" of evil mutants who are hellbent on the total destruction of the world. Close the city's gates and pray they hold until the Council of Elders can summon Tarna the Terrakian to either save the city or to avenge the dead. Damn, people, it's the biggest story arc in the entire fucking movie!!!

A song about the cycle of power when ''The MOB Rules''[leaders in GOVERNMENT] and also when ''The MOB Rules''[as WE THE PEOPLE] to protest against THE MOB[Government]. Where by this some of us will become part of this cycle of power change getting into THE MOB[people in Government or WE The People] to fight for the Rule to rule or overthrow others to rule over them.

I believe this song is trying to state the obvious. Don't mess with the Mob! Their power is worldwide. Doesn't matter what Mafia. Latin, Jewish, Black, or the most famous, the Italians. Whether you agree with their tactics or not, you have to respect them, & what they can do.
    This is just my opinion.
