Demi Lovato: Skyscraper Meaning
Skyscraper Lyrics
Skies are Crying
I am watching
Catching tear drops in my hands
only silence
has it's ending
like we never had a chance
do you have to
make me feel like
there's nothing left of me?
CHORUS:
You can take everything I...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song has so much meaning to it, And it can mean something different to everyone.
to me - it is about her eat disordered she had, self harming, and depression. We all know she struggled with them. So when i hear this song, I think of here saying all of this to her ED, SH and depression. kinda, like telling it that you can't break her no more, and that she is strong enough to get through it all.
And when she said "feel better
to watch me while I bleed?" I thought of her saying it to her haters that judge her because of her struggles.
She is saying, "Will it make you feel better if you sat and watch me struggle"
A lot of people don't know this, unless you been in her, or any person that have been depressed, that self harming, ED and depression takes over you to the point you have no control. I believe that when she sang "You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper"
It was about how depression takes over her, and ruins her, but not no more, she is fighting back and trying to get better, It can do anything to her, she will keep rising from the ground like a skyscraper, She never giving up.
im saying all of this because i been dealing with self harming for over three years, This song really helps me, I feel like demi is singing about me and how i feel when i hear this song. I listen to this song every day more then once. -

#2 top rated interpretation:Well Demi sung this BEFORE her breakdown and everything happened. This song is meant to talk about the voices in her head that told her she wasn't pretty enough or skinny enough or perfect enough and caused her to cut and become anorexic and bulimic. She's saying that voice is no longer in control and she's going to rise above it, and she did. Quite an inspiration.

#3 top rated interpretation:She is singing about how much she has been hurt, and how people just watch her burn and hurt. but she is going to rise up above them, that it doesnt matter anymore. she is saying that she is done with hurting, and is rising above what everyone says, and she doesnt care anymore what they think. she is herself, perfect in her own way. it is a very inspiring song, meaning you dont have to let what people say bring you down, you just have to rise up, know your beautiful and perfect in your own way. you have to rise up... like a skyscraper.

I’ve heard of this song before Demi had been the best singer whole life because the music would be different albums to make that the same songs I’ve been recorded
-
i think the song is about someone who's suffering from depression or anxiety then there's people around him/her who tries to bring his/her image down to others, but s/he trust her/himself that s/he can stand up again and again like a skyscraper
-
I think Demi is talking about how even though someone can break you down and make you feel like you're nothing you can still rise up like a skyscraper and show people that no matter what you can still rise and be different and have a voice.

I wrote this song with Toby and Dreamlab and they had to mix the song into fun pop song and it turned out great, I asked them if they can put a extra person on the record with me, and I asked josh if he wanted to do it with me, and so he’s a talented young artist, I wanted to work with him as a musician and also songwriter. And I wanted to work with him he’s so kind and nice and awesome guy I love josh. He’s so funny and he does tik toks. And when we don’t have club for the coronavirus me and josh could do tik toks. And my friend Matt wanted to do it with me, he wanted to do tik toks with me and josh. He’s so funny and cute, and handsome. He’s such amazing songwriter. And I like him I asked my friend Kourtney, and see if e j could meet me at my theater camp. It would be so cool.

I think to the song I would ask my managers to make it to the year they would let me do acting and singing I wanted Ho to university of Tennessee, to act like Demi.

On November 1, 2010, Demi's publicist announced the Disney star had entered a treatment facility for "physical and emotional issues," which was subsequently reported to include an eating disorder and self-cutting. Her first single since her stint in treatment finds the singer/actress finding strength in the wake of a fading relationship and it symbolizes her resilience in the face of her personal issues. In a Seventeen magazine blog post, she wrote, "This song is so special to me because it's inspired by my journey and the struggles that I've dealt with this past year. I hope people are able to relate to it and realize that they are able to rise above and overcome any obstacle, no matter the circumstances, and shine like a skyscraper. I am still on a personal journey dealing with my own issues each and every day, but the best advice I can give to anyone going through a rough patch is to never be afraid to ask for help."

I believe that Demi had eating disorders but this song is making me emotional but I have my emotions to every way to recording the album.
-
I think this song is about being in love and someone would be built until they have somebody had their life. Please help Demi feel better. I love her. She doesn’t need a documentary of her life. It’s very exclusive to anyone.

This is the actual meaning: the song skyscraper is about a girl ( possibly demi) who got cheated on.

Everybody in school calls me names, says I'm ment to live under a bridge, I'm dumb, I need glasses cause I'm stupid. I basiclly cry a river my mom has to hug me ebery nigh whilw I'm crying until I fall asleep. This song inspired me that those mean kods are going to grow up to be nothing and I'm going to grow up to be something. Demi's songs help me through everything.

Personally,I think Demi wrote this about the eating disorders and her self-harming. She is say she is better than them and will rise up. When she say 'run run run, I'm gonna stay right here, watch you disappear' it means she wants the voices and everything to go away. She also wrote it about her bullies and how she can rise up an ignore them. She is so inspirational and this song is easily my favourite, I cry almost every time I hear it. So to anyone out there struggling... RISE UP...LIKE A SKYSCRAPER!!!!
