   Its about a person who has tried all their life to make others happy, going in all directions simultaneously without regard to their own dreams, feelings,wants,etc...its all built up to an impassibletime in their life where he/she has had enough of others taking them for granted no matter how they try. They eventually realize that the life they live is theirs and nobody else's but still know they're a part of family who is continually unhappy and blame failures on him/her. The suicide is metaphorical to the life they used to live, and it shows the people in his/her life what he/she really means to them when they realize that 'you' could be gone. After the realization, someone steps up and finally understands that life isn't self-centered...thus saving a life that was devoted to others...

   It's about the struggle of trying to be yourself, but the obstacles that spring up in your path pull you down. The endless hammering of bullies, daunting hassle of fitting in, and trying to be what people expect you to live up too. No matter how much you try to be an individual your hand is forced, but you keep trying until there's almost nothing left of yourself. The will to live is all that remains, and you try to grasp at it. Just begging someone, something will help give you the strength. Just as you are about to give up the fight, the smallest things can give you the hope to create your own path.

   Feeling that a son has never lived up to his father’s expectations. Growing up, the father is ashamed toward the son, and blames him for his own failures, thus, “pulling him down to save himself”. The son, now an adult, understands how he was treated and is trying to make sense of why. The son has disowned his father who is now elderly and alone, and is paying for his treatment of others, thus, “I pull you under to save myself”.
   We all interpret differently. This is my personal life experience, and this song resonates with me in this regard.

   It's about teens having so bad of a life and no matter what they do nothing seems to do anything. These teens believe that no one cares about them and they take it to their last resort... SUICIDE! But one friend could prevent that from happening, and knowing that there "is" someone who cares about them.

   My interpretation is that no matter how much you want to commit suicide, you need to understand how much it might tear you apart for not commiting but then when you do it shows (in the official music video) the torture and pain the family went through. You may think nobody knows how you feel but somebody will knkw but it isnt an easy subject to bring up.
   
   It mainly says his life is caving in and that his mistakes are crumbling around him but dragging him down as they go with him and the knly way out is by suicide, but by not doing that it shows how by one person not comiting can make everyones life worth living (not meant sarcasticly) but it means you have an opportunity to change your life around and make your life really worth the heart beats

   it is said to be about suicide prevention but it does have a very vague meaning but it does come across to me like someone helps out a person all their life and the person they are helping screws them over so the person that was helping them then drags them under for screwing them over. sorry if it seems a bit what is being said. none the less it is an amazing song!

    about a person trying to live a life of pleasing others and putting themselves second that when the person they wanna please and help screws them over they cant do anything but let it beat them and beat them until they have to want to live. But when true mercy is shown that persons life is saved
