Knockin' on Heaven's Door Lyrics
I can't use it anymore
It's getting dark too dark to see
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door
Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song in my View is telling of how a Dying Deputy is saying to his mother that he can't do it anymore his day is done. bury him with his guns and take his badge off him as he can no longer serve as a deputy.
-
I interpret this as a man who served his life in the military and was honored with a badge or medal & all looked to him as a hero. However, behind the badge is a very worn out soul n does not deserve the recognition that he is honored for. So many others had died that earned the metal's he rocks. He feels he needs to move on to heaven.
-
Knocking on heavens door is my meaning knocking back until the reason is known it is unheard.like knock knock who is there lol.
-
I interpret the song as a man who uses his guns and badges to protect him. So by his mother taking that away from him, he feels unsafe in the world, as if he is basically knocking on heavens door because so many dangerous things can happen in the world, such as death.
-
That's how Pat Garret felt after shooting Billy The Kid
-
The guns and the badge represent what the man is and what he has done in life. He can't carry the burdon of it all anymore, the end has come and he has chosen when and how to go.
-
i interpret it as his fight is over bury him with all he has left he can no longer carry the burden of life
