Lady Gaga: Americano Meaning
Americano Lyrics
In floral shorts as sweet as May
She sang in eights into barrio chords
We fell in love, but not in court
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la la
La la la la la la...

#1 top rated interpretation:Sounds like a woman (probably someone not from the U.S?) who wants to marry a latina girl from LA (East LA is predominantly hispanic) but she is resisting or hesitant because of her cutltural (Hispanic background)-most likely Catholicism which does not believe in the gay lifestyle. ("I don't speak your language/your Jesus Cristo"). They can't get married because the same sex marriage laws haven't passed yet in some states--so she suggests the West Coast somewhere.

#2 top rated interpretation:Yes. The song is certainly about gay marriage and the fact that its not exactly legal in the US. And I think she is also using language as a theme for this song in different ways. I absolutely love the line "i dont speak your jesus christo" it just says volumes! I feel this song is like the perfect continuation for her TELEHONE video :)

#3 top rated interpretation:So Lady GaGa is retelling the story of a girl wanting to marry another girl from "East L.A, In floral shorts as sweet as may" This isn't proving that Lady GaGa's gay or something so don't start dissing her, she just believes in accepting everybody, even if they are gay.
Now the woman GaGa is playing is probably gay, but the east L.A one is Christian, so she isn't gay since it is against the religion. So GaGa's character says "I don't speak your Americano and I won't speak your Jesus Christo" so GaGa's character is obviously foriegn, and not Christian. When the East L.A woman says no to GaGa's character, and says she is a christian american she replies "I won't speak your Americano, I won't speak your Jesus Christo" then she says "I will fight for, I have fought for, How I love you" she is implying the struggle of gay marrige rights.
GaGa's a girl with a vison :) -
I definitely believe she is singing about gay rights. The Spanish translation of part of a song talks about a revolution in her generation. She is willing to fight, and has fought, for how she is and whom she loves. She will refuse to form to the person society wants her to be.

Gaga once said she is bisexual, but doesn't like to see it that way, because "Love knows no gender" and that she doesn't understand why everything should have labels on. You fall in love with a person, no matter the sex. That's the way to see it. This song is about the right to marry whoever it is that you wanna marry and love who ever it is that you wanna love. :)
-
so how come this is a song in the soundtrack of puss in boots a DISNEY movie when its about bisexual marriage?
-
Apparently it is about the 'Don't ask Don't tell' rule the army has about homosexual soldiers not being able to tell other soldiers that they are gay.
-
The song is about gay marriage rights. Saying that someone fell in love with a latina woman in East LA, and the woman who met her wants to marry her in a state, or country where lesbian marriage is allowed.
-
For one GaGa is Bi sexual, she has said it. No debate about it, no one cares. Now Americano to me i pretty GaGa's character falling in love with a girl who wont allow it because of her religion, amd what people would think of her. Gaga's character doesn't care, she doesn't believe that only love. So she's trying to convince the girl to do the same.
I love GaGa<3 -

Also, I think the outro refers to immigration law in Arizona. I agree, it would be the best sequel to telephone as it lends itself to an emotional storyline, although Government Hooker would also work well.
