Led Zeppelin: All My Love Meaning
All My Love Lyrics
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.
For many hours and days that pass ever soon
The tides have caused the flame...

The song is about how loosing a child and how a couple can refocus on each other and still maintain love and life meaning despite the tragedy. "Should I fall out of love" (with my wife due to the pain of loss) "to chase a feather in the wind" (my deceased child). His wife helps him refocus ("one word my will to sustain") on having a meaningful yet grounded existence ("for me the cloth once more to spin"). They can cope with the loss of their son and still feel a sense of meaning in life. "Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time, his is a force that lies within". There is a shared purpose and they accept a spirit life ("feather in the wind") that moves on, but is still part of the complete whole. The couple feels complete even in their loss and the song ends with a positive musical modulation. -

Karak Plant died of leukemia, he came back as a girl so it seems, like evidence that life can make it in the end.

True love has no conditions. Love is a power above separation. If the one you love can not be with you physically, your love for them can live in your heart.

This song was written as a tribute to Robert Plant's first born child who had recently passed away.
