Michael Jackson: We Are the World Meaning
We Are the World Lyrics
There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can't go on pretending...

#3 top rated interpretation:this song talks about the famine in africa in the mid 80's, this song was entirely written by micheal jackson and Lionel Richie. We are the world was sang by popular artists in the 80's and it was origonally created as a foundraising to bring money to feed people in Africa who were suffering from famine. They raised over $60 millon with this song.

In 1985, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie co-wrote the song "We are the World", in the hope to see the much-needed attention for Africa, by poverty crisis and which was ravaged by famine, led to the starvation of millions. The song serves to unite all people in the world that there is a time to hold hands and help each other. That there is no color, race that should be in the way. We have to see each other's struggles, to have unity for our world that is starting to fall, and that we have to stand for our future. Because everyone's life is important, yet people don't see it. In every country that struggles to live, and their own higher-ups don't see it because of their own greed, it falls to their own people, suffering, starving, and dying. In the lyrics of "We can't go on, pretending day-by-day, That someone, somewhere soon make a change. We're all a part of God's great big family. And the truth, you know, love is all we need" For us, It is all about not pretending about what is happening right now. Knowing how you enjoy every single of your privilege, other people don't. We should not be selfish and show the world how should we are come together and help and love each other.

Its a good song which inspires others to do something for those who need in help... It says that we can't be one who pretends everything is k and there will be someone to help the poor an Im not the right one to do those charity or I can't do this alone... we should have to be together then we can make a huge success in helping people around without considering their status

It's a very useless song with hiden satanic meaning coz God did not command us to turn stone to bread but Jesus told us man shall not live on bread alone. Am from Africa and we don't need such donations we only need Jesus

We Are The World by Michael Jackson is a very good song and the latest comment was a well explained too.
-The person who made the comment on the song Iris and Wish You Were Here recently -
We need to help other people from Africa and other countries. We need to raise good money for healthy foods to prevent all other people from dying of starvation. We wanted to give a better life to all people from other countries. We can’t ignore to help other people. When you love your family, you help your family. We are part of the world. Helping others makes the day brigihter. Saving our family from other parts of the world. We’ll make a better day together. We give the foods and shelters to other people from other parts of the world. So, that the people will stay healthy from hunger and thirst. We can make bread for hungry people so, we can help them. We give the foods and shelters to other people from other parts of the world. So, that the people will stay healthy from hunger and thirst. We can make bread for hungry people so, we can help them.
