King and Lionheart Lyrics
but these problem aside I think I taught you well.
That we won’t run, and we won’t run, and we won’t run.
That we won’t run, and we won’t run, and we won’t run.
And in the winter night sky ships are...

#1 top rated interpretation:If you listened to the interview she gave about the song, she wrote it for her brother. He is in Canada and she is in Iceland but how they love eachother alot and they miss eachother, how they both know they always have eachother. watch the music video too, it makes more sense with the video.

#2 top rated interpretation:The boy, he's the younger brother of course. Represented as a King. A great man who the girl, represented as as a lionheart(my own take is she's like the kings personal body guard and right hand "woman"), a person who loves the king and would do anything for him. The kingdom goes under siege and they are torn frome another in the midst of all the fighting. But the spirits(i believe represented as their love and bond) guides then to one another. The boy being the king makes it out safely. And the girl, lionheart, never gives up protecting the king until the end.

#3 top rated interpretation:I think this is about a king who everyone says is brave. But the king lost someone a long time ago, and their ghost is the reason that he's so brave, because they're always there with him. He's the king and they're the lionheart.

it reminds me of when a sister and her brother get separated because their parents got divorced (one lives in canada while the other lives (in iceland i believe) the rabbit is looking after nanna, and the fish is leading the king to safety. it’s such a sad song and you don’t like it because of the sad feels. i do wonder what happens after, and why the rabbit got taken away.
-
For me this song holds great meaning. As a gay girl, it resonates for me as a love song between two girls as they run from a collapsing society that doesn’t accept them.
-
I think its based off about a real life thing(minus the Sci-fi magical things.) Nanna and her brother got separated from their parents splitting up. Now back to the video part, I think there is a good ending..this may not make sense but...I think "Little talks" Is them in a different form...They may have got their spirit animals,(or just spirits.) back and they transformed, The girl in the video who finally finds that ram looking thing..? Maybe thats her and her brother? I may be wrong, but its just a guess so I'm sure I'm wrong, but I don't know. I based off the theory on Youtube.
-
I think it's about bravery. Even though they are separated and torn from each other, they remain the same in spirit and character, and refuse to run away from the fact that they might not see each other for a very long time, if we are looking at it from its backstory.
-
I think it's about family and war and hard times. The first part was the separation of the two, but throughout the video it always showed them trying to get back to each other with the spirits, but in the end it didn't happen and there was the separation and the sister was left behind. The war part was the world has fallen apart and the brutes and barbarians are the one either in control or the have trade amongst themselves and they act like savages. But I think it's interesting how they are visited by spirits who help them escape even though the girl spirit either got captured or eaten or just dissolved and she was left behind. But through it all I think it's about the connection of family and no matter what trial your in they will always be there for you or be looking for you no matter what.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think its about war and separation becouse of it

It's about life. Sometimes you can't go to someone you wanna go to. And sometimes people wanna hinder you trying to become happy. However, you can beat them and you can find your fortune if there's someone or in this case something that helps you.
Maybe OMAM did't want to express that, but for me it means exactly that what I've written. -
well she did say it was about her brother and how divorce of there parents seperated them. but the video is the creation of Mihai Wilson and Marcella Moser they obvioulsy used the basic meaning of brother and siter seperated but i can whatch this video a thousand times and see new things every time... love it!! the giant men.. and their huge look how they over shadow nanna.. they all must be 8 foot. kinda like ogers, and they dont move normal so I like to think they are orger types, and i swear there is a stompa on the over pass when she runs in to the city after the spirte rabbit gets eaten. warhammer fans will know what im talking about..lol. but the video is awsome and i want more at the end. remember music is always what the listern feels it is to them if it can move you it moves you for you own reasons your own conection its how it touches you that makes it yours. apreciate everyones own ownership of the song/video it dosent have to be the same as yours or ever have a singular meaning. enjoy and let enjoy, love and let love!

Its about a king and queen in their countrys downfall and the queen is trying to save her husband and her family from poverty, Slavery, and ect.
-
I think the song is about best friends, who have been best friends for a while but have recently been separated. And as time goes on, it becomes more clear that they need eachother because they realize that there is nobody out there quite as unique as them. That is why near the end, it switches to "you're my king and I'm your lion heart". It doesn't matter who the king or the lionheart is, because each person is a king in the others eyes, and they are both lionhearts, fiercely loyal and protective of eachother.
-
I think its about king Richard the lionhearted, who was known for conquering and being determined and brave in the face of danger.
-
I think it's about a brother and sister, and the sister is the lionheart and the brother is the king. The kingdom is in ruins, and some people have kidnapped them. They seperate them, until the spirit comes, and lets the lionheart see that the king is safe and sound.
-
Its about her missing her brother
-
I love fantasy and adventure, so maybe this seems a bit far-fetched to most, but I always imagine this song is about a king and his best fighter - his "lionheart" - and how their kingdom is being attacked and taken over, and they have to stand and fight against it - "we won't run"; "taking over this town"; and pretty much the entire chorus - and together, they manage to overcome their adversary. In short, the entire thing is how together, they can overcome anything, and how they'll always be there for each other, no matter what dangers or horrors lie ahead.
