This song is about someone who is planning to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge because they are pushed around to the point of not wanting to take it anymore. They have been contemplating sucked for a while, and they want to go numb.
Then there is a part of the song where they describe a bulimic person who's doing it for the popularity (maybe them or a dead person?).
They ask God to forgive them for what they're about to do. There is a war raging in their head. "Hail Mary, forgive me
Blood for blood, hearts beating Come at me, now this is war!"
The protagonist is terrified about what is about to happen ("Now terror begins inside a bloodless vein"), but they are gone past the breaking point. They are ready. ("We'd rather die than live to rust on the ground"), and they jump. They change their mind, but too late ("Shit") .

this song, in context, is about a person who is sick of society beating him down. they are considered part of the lower class because that's how society sees them. they're voiceless against media and others, and it gets him to the point where he decides he's had enough, and he stands up against it. this is a song for people who objectified by standards, the rebels, the outcasts.

this is my first interpretation so please don't judge but I think its about how when people have pushed you around for so long you can't deal with it anymore and you change your ways, you stand up for what you believe and no one is going to get in the way of that any more. Also its saying that imagine one day that you'll be a boss of yourself and you don't have to worry what others think of you as long as you think positively about your self. this song applies to me so much as I'm constantly told that I don't belong but this song has showed me different I shouldn't be afraid of who I am

To me the song is about the suffering that our current society breeds; The hyper-capitalistic system that we live in that rewards the wealthy and incentivises greed.

The wealthy live like kings while the rest of us live like dogs. It drives people into depression and despair when no matter what you do or no matter how hard you work, nothing comes of it. Oversleeping like a dog on the floor when you feel you have no motivation to keep going and don't see a point to any of it.

You told me to think about the way things are and to step in line. "Things are just fine the way things are," you tell us. Well, I did think about it and I have no power to change the boot-on-the-neck way that the wealthy treat the lower/working class and I can't cope and now I don't want to feel a thing anymore.

So sick of playing, I don't want to anymore. I want out but the only way to opt out of the system is death. I just want to live like a king with no ghosts in the walls. I don't want to have to be in a constant spiral of stress and anxiety over financial needs and worrying if I'm going to be able to meet my commodified basic human necessities.

Blood for blood. This is war. You keep pushing us and now we raise our hands and give you the revolution you deserve.

That's my interpretation... It's about the way the ultra wealthy treat us like we're garbage and throw us crumbs while they live like literal kings and how this treatment drives us to suicide.

I think this song is about a person who is being pushed around too much and is asking everyone if he should end it (Dare me to jump off this jersey bridge-Give it up give it up let me see your hands) Then the person ( I'm just going to say he okay? Okay.) thinks about how terrible this world is (Red for the blah blah blah). Then he says push me again please *sarcastically* (Please won't u push me for the last time) He's sick of playing life. He dosent want life anymore. The thought of the people that push him around is no fun. As the song goes on the guy jumps off or is commiting suicide. (Now terror begins inside a bloodless vein) And he's falling (or bleeding or anyway to commit suicide) and then he regrets commiting suicide and says "shit". But it's to late cause he's too late and then Vic and Kellin are sad

This song is about someone who is constantly being pushes around and walked on and has had enough of. Like in the line 'please wont you push me for the last time' or 'no I don't wanna feel a thing anymore'. And the person has had enough and they want to commit suicide 'dare me to jump off this jersey bridge' and 'dying is a gift so close your eyes and rest in peace'.

if you decide to look at it by the music video, it seems that he's sick and tired of the bigger power pushing him around so he gathers friends and commits murder by murdering the higher power. First, they celebrate, then they realize what they have done, exactly what he expresses when he says at the end, (swear word)

I think this song is about someone being pushed around a lot, and wanting to commit suicide from all the shit they have been getting. It says "Imagine living like a king someday" to either convince the kid to put up with them longer, or just saying, if you killed yourself, you would never get to be the king. I think that at the end when Vic says "We'd rather die than live to rust on the ground" it's a way of saying that there's no point carrying on, and when he says "shit" that is the person who has jumped off "this Jersey bridge", regretting it, but it's too late now.

Its about his battle with alcohol. The addiction or relationship is ruling his life to the point where he gets in such a state that he's 'sleeping like a dog on the floor'. He's lost everything to it and imagines living like a king someday without the ghosts in the wall or the memories that drove him to drink.

This is what I think its about: People are sick of the everyday things and they are just about to give up (The part where he talks about jumping off a jersey bridge) And then he says Hail Mary saying sorry for his actions and all the stuff as he is falling, then right before he hits the floor he regrets his decision and says Shit then SPLAT

It's the guy in the relationships perspective of being manipulated, toyed with ,and treated like crap. "Dare me to jump off this jersey bridge" is a metaphor for ending the relationship because he feels like he needs her and ending the reactionship would kill him; Although he really wants to end it. It's basically saying I want to end the relationship with out losing myself in the mix and on top of this he has drinking problems

After hearing the song many times over the last year, it just occurred to me that this song is about raging alcoholism and having no control over there addiction. Hence the line "red for the drink that's mixed with suicide". Other lines in the song support this, but i have no time to write those at the moment.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I agree with all the reviews but what does the song have to do with the music video.

It's about a person who's sick of things he/she is going through to the point where they commit suicide. Then yell "shit" when they can't take back the fact that they're dead.

I thought that song was just about taking back what's yours. Even if you have to go through so much to get it.

i think this about a person who is tired of being pushed to far.. to the point where they think about suicide..

and these people are just adding on and this person is now just like im done. im tired of this and i no longer want your demons to follow me.. the part when he is like the ghost in the walls and this is war..

this is when there sick of the bull and are just standing up for themselves and gunna fight back

that is what the song means to me!

My (now ex) boyfriend, right after he dumped me told me to listen to this song. he said this is how he felt about our relationship. I was confused at first but I think I got the message. at the time I was confused about my feelings for him and he knew that. then after hearing his friends tell him he deserved better he dumped me. And I've actually learned from it buuut ya. basically this song is about a person whose done with being toyed with. So they rebel and stand up for themselves
