The Fray: Enough For Now Meaning
Enough For Now Lyrics
He's not longer with us but he left this dusty room
In your name and it’s an honor, it’s a shame but it’s your honor
Take it on your shoulder til you can find another
That's enough for now,...

Isaac said in an interview that it was about(and I quote) 'a shitty relationship he had with his late grandfather.' His grandfather wanted a son, but ended up with a daughter(Isaac's mother) and basically didn't look after her like a father should. True story.

I really don't remember where I read this but, I heard this song was about Isaac Slade's grandfather. He wanted to have a son and not Slade's mother. He just basically dropped everything and left Isaac's mother and grandmother.

i think this song is about a man who for all his life wanted a son, and instead got a daughter. he was not kind to her and loving as he could be throughout her whole life as he wanted a son, and the song is writen from the perspective of the daughters son, who sees how this has effected his mother, and tells her of how he would have been if he had of known how he was hurting her
-
I believe it is about a father who left his daughter because he wanted a son but got a daughter
