I don't know if Tyler wrote it to be this way, but I always applied the song to myself as a fight against anxiety/depression. When we feel overwhelmed, we should reach out to other people for support.

This song combines the past, present and future of twentyone pilots and is a reflection of where they have come from. At the same time, it reminds them they have to stay grounded and keep moving forward, and not being caught up in their busy lives with the band
