Bad Religion: I Want To Conquer The World Meaning
I Want To Conquer The World Lyrics
Your actions speak so loud, I can't hear a word you're saying.
Hey Sister Bleeding Heart with all of your compassion,
Your labors soothe the hurt but can't assuage temptation.
Hey man of...

It's about honestly finding the faults in others' plans to change the world but at the same time empthizing with their motivations as well as their limitations. Instead of admitting this though, he ironically and humorously claims that he finds their efforts weak and pathetic but if HE were in charge he could fix everything with no weaknesses, difficulties, or complications. He intentionally leaves himself open for the same mockery he is giving the "sister bleeding heart" "brother Christian" "Mr. diplomat" and "Mother Mercy". Its a serious statement made in a humorous way. Great Song.

it poking fun at all the religious buff that say, "God is the answer," sceintist that say "We know how to have a better longer life," and all the politicans "promising" to do a better job than their predisessors and make the world abetter place. all have the desire to make the world a better place for themseves no matter what happens to everyone else.
-
Brett's talking about how the world really sucks right now and no one has the answers. He's incredibly sarcastic in this song and at the same time wishing he really could just fix everything. So it's Brett dreaming and making fun of himself for that dream...
-
I think this song is talking about how religion causes war, and hardship etc. It divides us, and he wants to get rid of it, and have everyone believe in the same thing.
-
Just a little comment. Greg Graffin did not write this song. The song was written by Brett Gurewitz the bands guitarist and songwriter at the time.
-
A highly cynical take on everybody, really. Greg Graffin wondering if any of these people can or will really make the world a better place to live in, along side a fantasy of taking control and turning the world into a utopia.
