The Great Salt Lake Lyrics
-
It’s about someone who feels out of place from a loved one, but doesn’t love them any less. He’s saying, “there’s so many ways Im different from you. You want to be like the river Omaha, but nobody knows Omaha, and I want to be where we are now, and greater, the Great Salt Lake. I want to have everything figured out, and be this constant body that doesn’t need to move. So when you find yourself falling apart, I can take over for a bit, I can help be your constant rock, your great salt lake. I know you think we’re too different, but your dad(everyone’s opinions), is too fickle to play into! People will say whatever they want without thought, and you can’t read too much into it. We know who we are, and that’s what matters. All they know now, is that we want more.
