Beatles: Day Tripper Meaning
Song Released: 1965
Day Tripper Lyrics
Got a good reason for taking the easy way out now
She was a day tripper, one way ticket yeah
It took me so long to find out, and I found out
She's a big teaser, she took me half the way...

But this song is most definitely, at least partially,
about drugs.
No less than John Lennon said so, and that's good enough
for me, but you may know something he didn't.
Also, if you do just a wee bit more research, you will find
that George and John were "dosed" by their dentist in
late 1964. -
Wow guys. This song is a John comp. and its not about drugs. This song was written in 1964 and they hadn't done acid at that point. They only drug they were known to have done where pills. John said he just liked the word "tripper". read a book guys. geeze

The song is about LSD. Paul wrote the song and was the last of the four to try LSD despite pressure from George, John, and Ringo. "She's a big teaser, she took me halfway there" is a reference to marijuana and "it took me so long to find out" is the reference to LSD (as he was the last one to try it) It's basically about how LSD was a greater experience than marijuana.
