Song Released: 2003
Walk a Little Straighter Daddy Lyrics
To look up to him
And I remember most the time
He wasn't there
I'd be waiting at the door
When he got home at night
He'd pass me by to go to pass out in his chair
And I'd say
Walk a little straighter daddy
You're...

This boy, as he grows up, always sees his dad drinking , and wishing his dad would sober up. When he's grown and has a family of his own, he assures his family that he won't end up like his father, and leave them with the memories of him being drunk and wasted all the time.

This song is pretty self explainatory. It's about a man who remembers seeing his dad whether it was all the time of not very much but his father always being drunk or drinking. And now that he is older and has a family of his own he is letting his family and I am sure his father know that he is going to do everything in his power to not be like that. So that when his kids grow up and think about their father the only thing they wont have to think about is how he was always drinking.
