Black Label Society: In This River Meaning
In This River Lyrics
All shall fade to black again and again.
This storm that’s broken me, my only friend.
Yeah
In this river all shall fade to black
In this river aint no coming back
In this river all shall fade...

This song reminds me of my nephew who was murdered by a scum bag drug dealer who put 15 times the amount of Fentanyl that could take down an elephant in another substance that my nephew believed he was using. He was a weekend/sometimes user who would never have knowingly taken Fentanyl. These scum bags need to be held accountable and charged with the true crime of murder if there is any chance to stop this from happening to more people! Now my dear sweet boy is In This River.

This song is a awsome tribute to Dime Bag. This fits the loss of my Son who got KIA while serving in the Marine Corps Sep.2-2010 LCPL. JOSHUA T. TWIGG THE LOSS of him has broken me! I do listen to this song a lot it has a lot of meaning it is a great tribute song. Sincerly hour's POP'S TWIGG

Regardless of when the song was written, when the song is played live it's dedicated to dimebag. In my thought, one of the biggest losses and tragedies in metal. What happened to the piece of shit who shot him anyway? He was in the military and blamed him for breaking up pantara but thats about all I know. I'm not interested in seeing the video of it. That's something that should have never been posted on you tube. I hope who ever posted that catches a beating and hopefully its been taken down.

The guy above me is right. The song was written before Dime was shot. The lyrics were perfect though and the song is now dedicated to Dime (and played at every concert). The video for this song was made to represent Zakk and Dime's friendship and how Zakk feels alone now that Dime is gone.

This song was actually written when dime was still alive and at first with no intentions for it to be a memorial song but it just fit zakk said

First off I can't believe no one has said anything about BLS yet. Second In This River is about a life long friendship with "dimebag" Darrell who passed away before this song. Zakk Wylde wrote this song as a memorial saying that Dimebag will be missed and when the course of his river "the river of live" eventually we all end up in the same place. Zakk Wylde also says "In this river, there's no coming back." meaning once your river comes till a end there is no way for you to come back to life "the river."
