    The lyrics are clear:
Lots of guys chasing a girl using the metaphor of a race.
The girl picks a guy, and all the other suitors stop...
Except one guy continues to chase her. He sees her as a prize he deserves; not a person. He rapes her, and despite the "feelings of doubt and remorse," he doesn't understand what he did wrong.

    It's a brutal song.

Id say that this song has a lot to do with The Great Gatsby (bear with me here). Both works are all about attaining the unobtainable-about always striving to complete our goals, no matter what. "The sun has gone down and the moon has come up...someone already left with the cup, but hes striving, and grinding, and riding on his horse..." you get it. I think they're either likening a race to trying to win over a girl, or vice versatile.
