    I feel like this song is about the ending of a relationship she's trying to forget about but its killing her inside. A lot of songs are breakup songs

    The person is having difficulties letting go of a past relationship and it is affecting their current relationship with a new lover. The person is stating unless they can let go of the hurt and pain their past lover put them through, then they will have to end the relationship with their new/current lover.
