    Craig is just trying to reduce his girl's emotion about how his parents re-act to her weird doings. Showing her the good sides except the annoying cop-like of her parents.

He explains all the things the girl has to do to hide her relationship with Craig so she can see him. As the song goes on the parents become more suspicious and eventually in the end, they figure out she is having an affair with Craig.
