Cypress Hill: Rock Superstar Meaning
Rock Superstar Lyrics
[B Real]
So you wanna be a rap/rock superstar, and live large
a big house, 5 cars, you're in charge
comin' up in the world, don't trust no body
gotta look over your shoulder constantly
[B Real:]
I remember the days when I was a...
-
It's about Diddy.
Look at the lyrics and what's came out. You wanna be a rock superstar? Sell yourself. It's what the song means. -
Telling you how hard it is even when your a superstar. its not what the mags are selling ya.
"looking over ya shoulder constantly" like you never now when your times up in the game. -
This song is meant to be ironic. "so you wanna be a rock super star? live large? a big house with five cars?". how people will do anything for fame and how they will change who they are for the sole goal of being famous."egomaniac and the brainiac
dont know how to act". "studio gangster, macks"(fake people who put on an act as gangsters and macks to sell records)
what i got from this track is that people will do almost anything for fame even change there name. we live in a society that is fixated on pop culture so "artists" try to play to this advantage and just go with the flow without trying to be different or creative. and just as fast a these cats rise, they fall because they have lack of substance. pop culture changes all the time and these pop artists are short lived because they are living in the moment. all im trying to say is that real music is timeless but we glorify pop culture so much that its hard for real artist to make it. -
comon think harder then that..smoke a joint and listen..its eminem speaking at the start and during the song..are they telling him a message with the song..the first line of the song is a question from cyrpiss hill
'So you wanna be a rap superstar
And live large a big house
5 cars, you're in charge
Comin up in the world
Don't trust nobody? -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
