Darius Rucker: This Meaning
Song Released: 2010
This Lyrics
And her momma laughing in my arms
There’s the sound of rain on the rooftop
And the game’s about to start
I don’t really know how I got here
But I’m so glad that I did
And it’s crazy to think that one...

Everything that has happened to him has happened for a reason. And everything that didn't happen that he "missed out" on led him to what he is today. Watch the music video. The red light he catches leads him to seeing a help wanted sign so he can get his first job. So everything happens for a reason.

One little thing can change our lifes so much it can make a persons head spin.

Darius even when he was with Hootie and the Blowfish, now is not afraid to admit that the steps he has taken him to where he is today. Some have not been what would be percieved in the right direction, but regardless, everything happens for a reason.
The song touches on the fact that life is beautiful, and even the smallest thing like missing a light, which in turn may make you late, or could have led to a car accident, things like that seem so meager but affect us all too much, and that even things like loosing a family member make you a better person.
Hootie is one of the best song writers of our generation! -
I believe the message is "Even though life can seem very hard, that's the way it was meant to be, and life's not that bad after all"
