Diddy-Dirty Money: Coming Home Meaning
Coming Home Lyrics
I'm coming home
I'm coming home
Tell the World I'm coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes
I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Tell the World that...
-
I don't think this song is religious... I am a very spiritual person, but to me this song is about satan or God or suicide. It's about a man coming to terms with his mistakes in life. It talks about his twins asking why he isn't married to their mom and his son saying he wants to be like him when he grows up, but that he hasn't finished growing himself. I think he's trying to ask forgiveness from people who are upset at him about a loved one's death. When they say: "I'm comin home, comin home, tell the world I'm comin home. Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday. I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes." I thin it's literally talking about him going home to all his loved ones. His kingdom could be referring to all his friends and family an how he's worked to get their forgiveness and acceptance.
-
I think you are all right and the song is split into three parts by the verse, the first about his personal life, then about his wife/gf situation and the last part about biggie and the chorus just exemplifies the overall theme of comming home to God, because in the end we are all gonna die anyway so we should always be seeking to come home.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I thnik he's coming out of Illuminati and seeking God's forgiveness and Easter --> Happy Easter Everyone!
-
I'm really confused about this as well. But if you follow the Illuminati conspiracy which is gaining more and more popularity these days as there is more and more proof being brought up, then you can really look at the song in a different way.
"I'm coming home, I'm coming home. Tell the world that I'm coming home": couldn't this possibly be the devil talking? We know that the devil has been planning his appearance on earth to take what he believes is his. Hence, "I know my kingdom awaits". Also, the word "rain" is often associated with the devil (e.g. "rainman"). So the fact that there's a part about the rain washing all the pain away throws me off too. Anyways, let me know what you guys think. -
I'm with u guys, but what's the pt and "get the math"?
-
I think Skylar Grey is the one that has died and is going to heaven. While Diddy is the one left behind trying to figure out his life.
-
okay so we all agree its about going to heaven. kingdom, coming home, etc.
but when he says about how he thinks its talking to him when tears of a clown comes on... ever hear that song? its about how this guy is so sad because someone left him and he pretends to be ok but hes actually really upset and misses the person alot.
and he says "is a house really a home when ur loved ones are gone?"
so its definitely also has to do with someone gone.
i think this song is about a person who misses someone a lot, whether its a deceased person or someone who moved, but they're so sad about it they want to commit suicide. "im coming home...let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday" -
This song definitely seems to have Christian influences but I don't think it's a gospel song or anything (lol). But a lot of it includes references of forgiveness, etc., and going to a place where the pain of yesterday is "washed away." That seems to clearly parallel a lot of biblical beliefs.
However, this song personally reminds ME of someone coming home from prison... "I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes" can be taken as a religious reference but it can also be the feeling an inmate in jail or prison has when they finally are coming home. Getting released from jail/prison and going back home to your family and friends is an amazing feeling and I think the song really embodies that feeling. -
It seems like it's a Christian song, and I actually thought it was, but then I downloaded it to my iPod and it has a few cuss words in it, so now I'm really confused for if it is or not! It even says "thankyou lord" and everything else, but the cuss words just threw me off :/
I was also watching a talk show and they performed it and at the end they were saying "always believe in the lord, he does great things," etc. -
Its about biggie listen! Diddy says" I miss you big" and in the video they show the car he was killed in
-
I think the girl's part is about going to Heaven, and Diddy's part is about trying to get his new girlfriend to move in with him because his wife died 'it's time to make your house a home, pick up the phone!', and he has finally moved on with life after her murder, 'you know you woulda took the bullet if you had saw it'
-
These lyrics are like what a relative who was in pain would say as he/she is dying and going to heaven.
