I'm Shipping Up to Boston Lyrics
-
The lyrics are by Woodie Guthrie, a 50s protest singer who was deemed 'too controversial' to gain a recording contract. So no recordings are of music exist, only volumes and volumes of lyrics.
The Dropkicks recorded this version with Woodie's daughter's permission.
The lyrics themselves seem a bit nonsensical. I am sure Woodie had deeper meaning behind them but the Dropkicks used it as a home town call to arms. -
