He loves her, but defiantly tries to convince himself and her, that he cares not if she walks away, and that despite her great beauty and egotism, her departure is really not that big a deal and the world won't notice, nor care. But later, even though he is trying not to be a believer (or sucker) in true love, he admits that her walking away is a big deal, and the evil of hate has conned him out of happiness.

Though some of the direct words are directly assuming, to.compare a girls "stillettos" to Hitler and Stalin are just absurd and completely ruin the entire song by direct disrespect for *real* tradgedy. Oh, but maybe he meant stillettos at a Holocaust Museum where piles upon piles of shoes from the dead are encased by glass and a little plaque with a memorandum and tid-bits of History. Sorry, I just can't take it lightly or see how the metaphor compares.

I think its about someone he wants to leave but can't cause he is a good person and he might forgive her.

it could be satan telling Jesus to believe in him and everything will be alright and but then Jesus stays strong and stays an unbeliever of satan and then satan's whole world fall apart and all his demons(headstones crumbling down) fall and Jesus walks away from satan leaving him defeated. And Jesus and God are triumphant in the battle against satan and his demonic army.
