Gary Wright: Love is Alive Meaning
Song Released: 1976
Love is Alive Lyrics
-
It’s definitely a spiritual song but now that I go over these interpretations & lyrics in the song again, I believe he is talking about his twin flame, his other half of his soul. They are the mirror image of you….
Either way this song has always been wonderful and now I understand more now why that is -
The song was always pretty cool albeit a bit corny IMO. At age 52 I started going through a spiritual awakening. This song to me is all about his connection to everything and the love he feels.
Perhaps he has just discovered this. He realizes he's lived half his life inside his ego which is only half of what he is. Clarity for certain.
Something inside making him crazy? Heck yeah! Spirit energy! He'll try to keep it together. This is understood by those that have experienced it. "'Cause what I say may not happen the same way" Yes, his reality has changed and is changing.
yes a mirror reflecting love back. Empaths understand this mirror, science understands it as mirror neurons. Hold on to that feeling? Let it flow, let it grow? YES! The feeling of bliss on goes through when they awaken.
As for the chorus it couldn't be any clearer. Being spiritually awake means you are using your heart energy. The heart is taking in so much. His heart is on fire. His soul is turning? yes, the soul is certainly doing stuff. -
I like to believe these lyrics are
about God as in Father, Son, Holy Spirit. But they sound like a
song about reincarnation.
And simultaneously about
being in love. -
I definitely see how this can carry a dual meaning, yes spiritual of course but also for a love of a woman. He talks about only living half his life, his other half cliche. If you've ever felt a love like I have it feels like it's alive and a burning fire in your heart. It's like a mirror reflecting the thoughts of that person in your mind. It's like a spiritual awakening it's so powerful and you feel so alive when your with them.it doesn't happen often, once in I lifetime if your lucky. Your afraid to say because it may not happen, it could die, but now could be forever.
-
I used to think it was written about his love for a woman. After reading all of the lyrics I have to agree with the other two posters. It seems to have a religious context. The love seems to be between himself and a higher power.
-
I’m not a Christian as I perhaps once was due to some disturbing problems & issues I find in the religion. But, the lyrics to me is subjectively interpreted as those last words spoken by Christ at his crucifixition on the cross, “My Love Is Alive”, Every other word that is in that song strongly supports that as it’s underlying meaning.
“What I Say May Not Happen The Same Way”, as what he said and preached was distorted over time.
But His love is Alive!! -
A wonderful song signifying the spiritual awakening of a man and the realization what this means to him going forward.
