Heartland: I Loved Her First Meaning
I Loved Her First Lyrics
Lost in the moment, in each other’s face
So much in love, you’re alone in this place
Like there’s nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one, she told me so
And...

That the father was the first one to love her, and if you break his daughter, you basically break him because she is his whole world, he held her first, he loved her first, he's now giving her to someone else but wont stop loving her because she is his daughter. That's what I think this song means.

It's a song about how much a father loves or at least should love his daughter, in this song I see a father pouring out his heart for everyone to see that his baby girl is his world,in otherwards you break his daughter, you break his world, his daughter is his weakness yet he is her strength, so be careful when you hold his girl because he may not stand in your way now but you'll get to him when you fail to hold her girl right. He loved her first and he loved her right & he only hopes you give her nothing less. Do her girl right and you're doing right by him.
-
it's about a father saying he loved his daughter well before the husband and he's letting her go to him and it's hard. and she still has a special place in her dad's heart.
