Hilary Duff: Who's That Girl? Meaning
Who's That Girl? Lyrics
There were secrets that nobody else would know
There's a reason but I don't know why
I don't know why
I don't know why
I thought they all belonged to me
Who's that girl?
Where's she...

I want to write my own song but my cousin Philip loves to do music he’s a genius but when he’s interested into music and then we can record this song with Hilary and Philip, and Philip will produced the song and it turns out that somebody to write for someone special I wrote with Nathan Chapman who produced Taylor swift, and also max Martin on her latest song blank space, and max turned around and look at someone who can write my music but I called my cousin to do it with me, and he’s a good drummer, he likes to play music and songwriting for people who loves, because I’m his favorite cousin.
-
I think that song is to my favorite character and to be who you are and so I have to write about that, because her name is Dara and she’s the best girl. I worked with her at the stage and I’m doing the best I can and that can be the one, and that character explains a story of me and my boyfriend josh and we’re going to be superstars, and then and me and him can do the recording and singing we started the piano at my church and i played with the piano and sing the chords, it’s emotional.

I love that song it had beautiful sound on the radio and it make the song much more fun and it also had the type of violins to play, I recorded this song to Dreamlab they worked with Selena Gomez, and so I wanted this record to be a fun and beautiful ballad, it’s when me and Ricky are going to be who we are and live in different places for performing and vacation and sometimes when we have great opportunity to make this happen and to do with these two demos and also a live shows. Ricky is a boy who is interested into musicals and so he wanted to do music and he’s really good with guitar but I’m getting him sorts of guitars he can play for me. And he can send me couple of chords and taught me how to play guitar.

I think it’s about being someone you don’t want to be or never intended to. When Hilary says “Who’s that girl? Where is she from?” She is saying who are you and what kind of a person have you become than yourself. “No she can’t be the one that you want, that has stolen my world” is saying the person herself knows she doesn’t want who she is now and that she’s cheating herself meaning she is ruining her own world with this new identity.
-
The girl is saying that she and her probly crush or boyfriend used to hang out a lot but another girl came in and stole him from her. She feels sad about the fact and now she's sorry that she isn't her now. The girl stole her life from her.
-
I think its about a girl and a boy they are
best friends and the girl is starting to have
feelings for him but one day he starts hanging
out with a different girl she find them
hanging out more and she is starting to feel
sad and depressed. -
Chorus lyrics:
Who's that girl
Where's she from
No she can't be the one
That you want
That has stolen my world,
It's not real
It's not right
It's my day
It's my night
By the way, whos that girl?
Living my life?
I think it's about a girl who loves a boy but he likes someone else. When she finds out, she is sad. -
A teenage girl who has fallen for someone close to her, but finds out that he has feelings for someone else. She is heartbroken but won't compromise her identity for him.
-
I truly believe that this song is about losing your identity. Also, it is about this poor teenage girl who is desperate to find out who she is and who she is becoming. Hilary Duff displays a deep depression about her lack of knowledge in her life. Also, she sounds like she has a cold.
