Hunter Hayes: You Think You Know Somebody Meaning
Song Released: 2014
You Think You Know Somebody Lyrics
Take a walk through you past, good and the bad, decide you can do this again
It's supposed to feel different, supposed to feel safe, safe like going home
But just like sand it slips through...
-
I think this song is talking about opening up your heart to someone for the second time, and hoping it feels different than the last one, but it doesn't. You fall for a person and make all these memories "late night call, morning kiss, 'i can't live without you's)and then they end up letting you down like before, and you thought you knew the person, but it turns out you didn't. And then through the heartbreak, you remembering thinking it was worth the pain, but it turns out not to be. So sometimes when you think you know somebody, you might end up not knowing them as much as you thought you did.
