Hunters And Collectors: Throw Your Arms Around Me Meaning
Throw Your Arms Around Me Lyrics
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
I'll go running along your street
I will squeeze the life out of you
You will make me laugh and make me cry
We will never forget it
You will...
-
It's about a prostitute

In my thoughts and experience it is about the relationship that exists with a partner/soulmate who has died and passed over into another realm. When we sleep we leave our bodies and go to other places "shed your skin" and "meet you in high places". For anyone who has lost Their love thru death this song makes sense "I will never forget you". It brings tears and comfort toe every time and to me can be no other interpretation.
-
On one level it is about a one night stand,
"We will never meet again so shed you your skin and lets get started" makes this fairly clear. But on a deeper level it is about love not lust, about the connection we all seek to that one soulmate. It also expresses the love of a parent to their child. Ona further level it expresses the loss of a love one and it used a lot at funeral usually for same line as quoted before. As with all classics people interperate their own meaning on to the song, this is what give a song universal appeal and usually commercial success. Not in this case it was never No1 in any chart but is a cult classic. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is one of the many songs written about love. There are many different interpretations of this song, according to the listener and how they interpret the lyrics. Its actually about a one night stand. An example of this is in the lyrics; "We may never meet again, so shed your skin and lets get started"
