I Don't Know How But They Found Me: Choke Meaning
Song Released: 2019
Choke Lyrics
Lock the fire escapes
I'll break your pretty face
Yeah, yeah
Oh, you clever little things
The sycophantic teens
What a precious basket case
Yeah, yeah
Now shut your dirty mouth
If I could burn this...

#1 top rated interpretation:Los Angeles, Hollywood, and the music industry in general is what I believe he's referring to with this song. The feeling of being trapped and hesitant of signing contracts, making it more and more difficult to escape. All the loyal followers of the things that come from these places are the sycophantic teens. All the brilliant artists who will do anything for enough money and fame are the idiot savants to whom the money really talks to. I believe he hates this reality and would love to see it disappear (or burn) or at least show a little more sympathy to people who don't necessarily know what they're getting themselves into. I don't think this is referring to anyone in specific, just the utter filth the industries condone and encourage. Like Elliott Smith's Angeles, it boils down to getting in too deep, being promised fame and fortune, and and being used in order for the bigwigs to make a hefry profit. Lure you in with promises of fame and fortune you're not really sure you want, but they ultimately convince you that you do. Just my interpretation.

I know Dallon Weekes cousin (singer of the band) and I was told ‘Choke’ was written about Brendan Urie (singer of Panic! at the disco) because he’s far from a kind person
-
I think the meaning is the feeling of suffocating and you feel like you can't move on and you just feel numb and just want to die.
-
I think the song means that they want to get away from life but unnecissary fame and fortune are still there ,and I think " choke " is that they can't breathe in the society we're living .

People say that it’s about Brendon Urie, but I don’t see the correlation.
