I Prevail: Alone Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Alone Lyrics
It was us against the world, but now
I’ve been sleeping on my own
Spending all these nights alone knowing you’re not coming home
'Cause you’re running through my dreams
It’s like you’re on repeat
Feels like eternity,...

#1 top rated interpretation:The more i listen to this song, coming from a person who lost someone, i believe its about death. "You left me all alone" meaning the person who passed left that person all alone to deal with that persons death an never taught them to live without them. "I let you in, you left me out" i let you tell me you were gonna make it or its okay but you left me out of the hurt an agony of losing you.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

From the video and context, it's clearly about a relationship. Maybe not necessarily the relationship ending, but them having an argument and she walks out but before either could reconcile, the woman is killed in a collision. This seems more to do with the regret of saying something particularly harmful and not having the chance to apologize, so the love of his life dies with nothing but the memory of his anger and he must live with the pain of knowing he still loved her,and her being gone and his last words to her being venom spewed out of spite and anger.
-
It's about heroin addiction. My uncle who showed me this song has been struggling with addiction for many many years, and for me that's just proof. A lot of addicts relate to it.

The lyrics in this song hit me like a freight train and there is no doubt of the meaning cause those words say so much. They are about the death of the other half of somebody's whole I unfortunately know the feeling all to well. Its been almost 2 years since she passed and not a day goes by that I don't think of her or dream even. The pain and regret are a lot but I'll never forget her or stop loving her.

1st time hearing it today, I only think of losing(not death) my wife. Having a hidden addiction throught our nearly decade together. Walked out for the dealer who traded sex for her fix. So much hurt over losing her to addiction, not a loss of love. +2 yrs now she does still runs thru my dreams and I will not be the same. The betrayal, anguish, headache. Great song, but the memories it stired up, hard to listen all the way thru.

Right away I thought about someone who has passed away... and considering the album track art of a man with a rose kneeling in front of a grave stone only confirms that. Great song but really depressing.
-
I feel it's about a death of some one close

I think it's about love. I can see were everyone gets their own thoughts of the song. I think maybe we can interpret it how ever we want, it's a beautiful song. I just feel like lost love when I heard it. Considering my ex that I love introduced me to the song. We're still really good friends, but we are both still hurting from our relationship.
-
i think this song is about a loved one, i know how this feels and every time i hear this song it makes me think of someone i cant have

Why does every song have to be about drugs? Seriously people there is alot more to life than drugs. I didn't think once ever in hearing the song multiple times that it was ever about drugs or infedility. It's obvious, at least if your not on drugs that the song is about having lost someone you loved to a tragedy and never having the chance to tell them how you felt and or leaving it in a bad place and it being the last things said or done between them. Have you never been told or heard someone say not to let someone walk away from you angry or after having said something you didn't mean. Because the way life works anyone can be gone in an instant then you have to live with the last thing you said.Think about it when you don't have drugs on your mind. Please.

Based off the most recent music video as well as the lyrics themselves, it sounds a lot like a relationship that had fallen apart, which is shown in the line in the chorus that says "I let you in, you left me out". But there is also a theme of loss that you can hear throughout the song like the line that says "Truth be told I can't believe you're gone" and "Now I have to face the fact that you're never coming back" and in the bridge towards the end of the song that says "I see you in my dreams, I can't believe you're gone". At the end of the video you see the man bringing what is likely an apology note to the grave of the woman along with a rose which signifies a sort of emotional attachment that you would see in a relationship. The ending scene gives us a better idea of how she died when she appears to get hit by a car.

The guy is still in love with his ex who left him for someone else but he will never be the same without her but he knows she's over him forever.
-
i think its about a dead friend and also about something shared between two people..something to strong to keep sharing though. maybe drugs.. its like a mix of resent, betrayal and heartache.
-
I think its about drugs and that someone lost their greatest love to death because they were to carless with their drugs to lose their life. So they didn't leave on purpose. But the habit took them indirectly, and it cut deep
-
It's about drugs to me. Guess you gotta feel the emptiness of recovery to read into it
