Jessie Reyez: Figures Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Figures Lyrics
I gave you ride or die and you gave me games
Love figures
I know I'm crying 'cause you just won't change
Love figures
I gave it all and you gave me shit
Love figures
I wish I could do exactly what you did
I wish I could hurt you...
-
I think the song is about tricking yourself into loving someone more than you actually do and putting everything you have into that relationship just to watch it crash and burn and feel like you want so bad for the other person to feel exactly how you feel even though there is nothing that you can do about it
-
If you have seen the dance to figures on dancing with the stars theirs is about domestic violence. so im just gonna go with that!
-
She is speaking to « Love » and ask him to answer why we accept to love and to be loved and without a word, love crash and hurt so bad. If « Love » wouldn’t be so cruel with all these heart games.
« Love » wouldn’t feel hurt too so why « he » did this to her. She would like to have the power to do this in return so « Love » would can understandings how does it feel. -
i fel like this song is about giving your all in a relationship and getting nothing in return, and when the relationship ends he's gonna realize what he gave up and that he made a mistake, but she's not going back to him. also i feel like she is saying that she doesnt want to feel hurt by what he did but she was/is in love with him so she can't help but feel hurt
