Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze Meaning
Song Released: 1967
Purple Haze Lyrics
Lately things just dont seem the same
Actin funny, but I dont know why
scuse me while I kiss the sky
Purple haze all around
Dont know if Im comin up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that girl...
-
The song is about LSD. Dont know if Im comin up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that girl put a spell on me
This brings up confusion, which is something that usually happens when you take LSD. And the girl putting a spell on him refers to the model who offered him LSD for the first time.
Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?
A level four or five psychedelic experience can cause the sensation of reaching towards the end of time, proving that this song is about acid. -
Wow, You are all pretty fucking stupid, the song Purple Haze is about a dream he had, he was lying in a field, not that it was about him on drugs, it aint about the weed man, it's about dreams.

That girl is mary jane

OK, most of you guys don't know what your talking about.
If you would read the cover inside the cd it quotes Hendrix saying that he wrote the song about a DREAM HE HAD about walking under the ocean. -

Purple Haze is actually from a dream Jimi Hendrix had. He was walking under the ocean and there was a purple cloud/haze around him. But it's also about being love, hence the lyrics 'am I happy or in misery, whatever it is that girl put a spell on me' and also it is definitely 'scuse me while I kiss the sky' not 'while I kiss this guy'
-
It is not about any type of drug, it's about a dream he had.
-
ya you're all wrong.....its about a dream he had when he was walking at the bottom of the sea soooo ya BOOYAH......it says it in "the best of jimi hendrix" you know when they explain all of the songs he was qouted sooo ya
-
Alright Theres a couple of things I wanna clear up the lyric is deffiatly excuse me while I kiss the sky, you can look it up I swear it is. Also purple haze is a type of haze wich is a type of weed trust me I know. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the song is named after the weed or the weed is named after the song.

You don't mix acid with weed. Burning acid to get high is like burning money to be rich. Unlike heroin, crack, and marijuana, or shrooms, you can't burn acid for a high. However, i'd agree it's about weed.
-
Once being a stoner myself, I have the knowlege to say that purple haze is jimi hendrix's favorite type of bud.
Purple haze is a potent form of marijauana, laced with lsd, to make it a hallucinagen.
Usually costing around 45 dollars or so for a gram/full-joint/three bowls full, just for the sake of authenticity. -

-
It is obvious that the meaning of purple haze is on the effects of a drug acid. "Feelin funny-and I don't know why----excuse me while I kiss the sky" referring to the expresion--so high I could kiss the sky, it's as simple as that.
