José González: The Nest Meaning
The Nest Lyrics
By the thicket while assembling a nest
on the alert for any lingering threats
building frantically without any rest
Walls grew dense and blocked out the sun
caving in everyone
Darkness fell wiped...

Yes it could be he was just smoking a joint and watching a bird building nest which is amazing that he would think of that by watching that that's just absolutely beautiful but the thing with music anyways that's what it's up for you know there's always the meaning and then there's always interpretation of the meaning to someone else which is a beautiful thing as well who's to argue you know it means what it means to you I think there's a difference it's very I just think of humans and how much darkness has come over this world already and has been here in a way we do just eat each other away and just everything overtaking everything and all the big industries and are forests in our you know just everything depleting you took it away because we're all so selfish there's so many ways probably sounds crazy

I love how people interpret songs. I have read that this song is about Nationalism, fear, and building wealth. Maybe Jose was smoking a doobie and was watcing a bird build a nest. Seems to me that is exactly what was happening. Thats is exactly what the song says. Sometimes as most things are just as they appear.... Ridiclous Intelectuals..
