Kanye West & Jay Z: Why I Love You Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Why I Love You Lyrics
-
Jay-Z has publicly admitted that he is not a christian. This song describes his frustration and anger towards people who still allow themselves to be slaves to organized religions. Modern American society only loves Christianity (God, Vatican, Jesus) because they feel as if they should or have to. But, modern logic and reason has begun to cause people (such as Jay-Z and Kanye) to question their true faith. This coincides with the song "No church in the wild" Point being churches are unnatural and unnecessary. This song takes it a step further by telling listeners you could be your own king but instead you are just the churches soldier. He is speaking to God, "Ooo I love you so, but why I love you I'll never know."
