Kate Nash: Merry Happy Meaning
Song Released: 2008
Merry Happy Lyrics
-
Evidently, this song is about the aftermath of a breakup and the singer's attitude towards this situation and her ex. Her relationship was "very very happy" it turned out that they "were not the people [they] used to be." Thus, a breakup occurred and the singer professes how she's fine with the prospect of being alone. She shows her resentment towards her ex by exclaiming how shes totally fine... However, the ending of the song suggests differently. The mood of the song devolves to what the singer hid within herself throughout the entire song. This sentiment is sadness, it is loneliness, it is the opposite of Merry Happy.
