Kiesza: Hideaway Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Hideaway Lyrics
I'm holding it back, just want to shout out, give me more
You're just a hideaway, you're just a feeling
You let my heart escape, beyond the meaning
Not even I can't find a way to stop the storm
Oh,...
-
Celebrating and normalizing promisciousness.
-
Celebrating and normalizing sluttery
-
Maybe?
You're bringing me closer to the edge I'm letting go.!
You're just a hideaway
You're just a feeling
You let my heart escape
Beyond the meaning
Pulling my head into the clouds
I'm floating off
When you can be going I can't find a way to stop
You're just a chance I take
To keep on dreaming
You're just another day that keeps me breathing
Ooh, aah, aah, ooh
Ooh, aah, aah, ooh
Baby, I love the way that there's nothing sure
Baby, don't stop me
Hideaway with me some more
Hideaway with me some more
You're bringing me higher than I've ever been before
I'm holding it back, just want to shout it, give me more
But you're just a hideaway
You're just a feeling
You let my heart escape
Beyond the meaning
Not even I can find a way to stop the storm
Oh baby, its out of my control what's going on
You're just a chance I take
To keep on dreaming
You're just another day, that keeps me breathing
You're a day that keeps me dreaming.

This song is about how good of an orgasm a specific person gives and how great the feeling is. But that's all they are. Just a sexual feelig. -
She just wants a good shag!!
-
I think its the view from a mistress, a girl who loves the excitement of a forbidden romance..loves to hideaway
-
personally I believe she was intending to portray a story of a woman who only wants the casual relationship no strings attached , an escape. However all the men she encounters are one's who are looking for stability while she's in pursuit of a thrill, she claims she has no control over these fantasies or desires it's what her heart wants and she can't change that.

This song is basically about drugs. Almost every line is talking about drugs. When she says "You're taking me higher than I ever been before" IT MAKES SENSE!!! Also she says "You're taking me closer to the edge of letting go" (or something like that) WHY DOESN'T ANYBODY UNDERSTAND!!!!!!
-
I think it I about her trying to find the right guy and that she can't find one that doesn't what her just for kissing and getting undressed and a guys that will appreciate the money and time that it takes to look amazing
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
It sounds like an affair song.
-
It's about an exciting relationship , one that she's never experienced before, it gives her wings, excitement, she can't hold back..but he's not really even real , because there doesn't seem to be any commitment…however, she actually likes that and she says it in that one line midway throught the song (something about how she loves that nothing is for sure)…so she keeps wanting more…it's like dating without committment yet…and you never know…it might develop into a relationship or it just might be a sexual thing for a while. But it's good and inspired her to write /sing this song, for sure. It's about excitement and feeling alive. And not wanting "certainity" but just accepting the way things are, going with the flow and seeing what happens , while enjoying the amazing chemistry.

I think this song is about a love that is either coming from a friend or a friend with benefits. She seems to be falling for him, and she sings it with lyrics typical with a modern love song ("Taking me higher than I ever been before", "Bringing me closer to the edge of letting go"). Then, she sees the downside of it, showing why there "is nothing sure" and why she shouldn't feel this way.
The "Hideaway" is the hidden feeling if it is a friend or a sexual connection with the person that is not supposed to be tied with the feelings.
This is more apparent in the acoustic version (sung in a more somber way). -
This song is about how she feels something that she's never felt before. she's falling in love but she knows that it's not good for her.
-
I think she is talking to her newly rolled joint, she is even holding it back, just one sec, she wont be long :)
-
In my opinion it's about a relationship that's not concrete maybe new maybe old. A titleless relationship that doesn't even need a title, the feelings are enough to give her a rush even if it's going to last forever or for just the moment, she is content right now. Then again it could be about cheating the rush and fantasy maybe exhilerating.
