Song Released: 2011
I Follow Rivers Lyrics
Oh I ask you, why not always?
Be the ocean, where I unravel
Be my only, be the water where I'm wading
You're my river running high
Run deep, run wild
I, I follow, I follow you
Deep sea baby, I follow you
I,...

#1 top rated interpretation:It's a combination of love and death.
It's like he is being huted by death, the love of his life.
He loves her, but he has to run away for some reason.
Lykke Li is the female figure of death, and she makes it look beautiful and tempting to love.
So, though he has to run away, he can't, even if this means that he will die. -
I don't know what it was all I wanted to do was fall in love with somebody for the rest of my life I never really had any family she was all I had left don't know what to do now I'm not sure if I'll make it

According to Li, it's about desire. The irresistible forces that desire can exert upon you, moving you along is course, to its inevitable destination.
"It's about desire being a nature force that is pulling you into situations, and when you almost have no voice."
"You know when you're kind of into it really badly, you're in some kind of destructive situation, very unbalanced. You're driven by desire, and desire can lead you into a very dark place, whether it be drugs or love, and it's kind of like you're powerless."

This song is about the discovering of love in itself. The singer tries to forget her ex but she finds it difficult (deep sea baby). She triés to do her Life by following the course of life. Life is a river and within this river she found love. Love changes and never stays the same. Rivers end in the ocean.

She is a devil worshipper
-
It’s about a Pisces.
-
It's about a cult kind of following I think. But sometimes love can be just like that.
-
Its about the migrant crisis.

its about a girl committed to following her love and going with the flow trying not to screw anything up.
-
It's a song about a single emotion which she has for a guy, "I follow you" says everything, she will let herself just flow and be guided by him. She found him, now she is going to commit herself to him. It's platonic love.
-
It's about coming of Age of Aquarius ,song was released on the first day of Aquarius sign 21 January. Lykke is Pisces, she leads us all to a new age. On a more deeper level, waters signify oral sex and lust for cum drinking, submission of female slave to her master.. While trippin on drugs. nice song.
-
It's about sex, "He's a river RUNNING HIGH DEEP AND WIDE" "DON'T COME BABY I'LL FOLLOW YOU" that's what I get from it anyway.

I think its about growing old together. Well for me at least,
Oh I beg you can I follow?
Oh i ask you wanna always be the ocean where I unravel.
It sound to me as if she asks him to spend his life with here and the comparing is just the other word for better or worse... and since rivers go to the ocean, its where they grow old, and a dark room represents death.
Heed a message, im the runner, as in he is something she caries and runs away with to keep him safeor keeps his secrets, the rebel and daughter i could see in many ways... wich are hard to explain, but i think she decribes them as opposite people, that attract each other, because all the parents hate when their daugthers get with bad boys, so she is describing that situation in that line i think.
It could be a very desperate sad song about a girl who found the true love but does not get the feelings back, even tho she promises everything in return...
Thats what I think ^.^ and thats why i like it <3
And sorry for my grammar, im Croatian <3

I guess its a song about drugs. She is a drug following him and he wants to escape but after some tries he gives up probably not for the first time according his face in the video. As soon he stops running she kisses him getting him back to the feeling of this pleasure and he is againg addicted. Her eyes at the en want to say that noone can escape...
